The Problem: Excessive Permissions

One of OffSite's primary goals is to avoid many of the issues that normally arise from audience sharing. As a site owner, when manually sharing access it's easy to accidentally lose control of how your audiences are used. Many well-meaning site owners don't realize that they've given excessive permissions to their advertisers

OffSite's Solution

OffSite addresses this by being an intermediary between site owners and advertisers. Rather than sharing an audience directly to the advertiser's Google Ads account, OffSite gives the advertiser limited access to a silo-ed Ads account via the OffSite user interface. This allows site owners to control what types of ads and campaigns can be run to their audiences, and it provides a focused user experience for advertisers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my own Google Ads account as an advertiser?

Unfortunately, this isn't currently possible in OffSite. To comply with Google Ad's Terms of Service and to offer site owners full control of how their audiences are used, OffSite's approach is to allow limited access to a fresh Ads account, with access only to the requested audience, via the OffSite user interface. All campaigns, ad groups, budgets, and ads are manage through the OffSite UI, as well.

How do I pay for my campaign's ad spend?

Since advertisers can't log in directly to the Ads account in question, OffSite handles the billing. Daily ad spend is charged each day (usually 48 hours afterwards) to the default payment method you've added to OffSite. A small fee is added to the ad spend to cover Stripe fees and processing.  See our pricing page for more detail on how OffSite's fees work.

What if I need conversion tracking, per-keyword-bidding, or some other feature that OffSite doesn't currently support?

Even though we're actively working to bring more of Google Ads' features to the app, we understand that OffSite's limited scope won't be a fit for every advertiser. Many of the audiences in the marketplace have free trials available, so we strongly suggest taking the app for a spin with one of them, even if your dream audience doesn't have a trial period. It's a great way to make sure that OffSite has support for the features you need. In the mean time, if there's a feature you'd like to see, drop us a line via the Intercom help button in the bottom right of the page. We'd love to hear from you and let you know when new features are ready.
